This Is Us star Mandy Moore walks down memory lane and crushes her teenage style choices. Watch the video!

Even though she has already established herself as the winner of Throwback Thursday, Mandy Moore takes the throwbacks one step further by commenting on all of the 2000s fashions from her days as an MTV staple. Whether she was hitting the red carpet at the Kids’ Choice Awards or ringing in the New Year in Times Square, Moore always dressed to impress in the early aughts. But looking back, Moore has some thoughts on her teenage self’s sense of style, and she broke it all down for the Today Show. Let’s throw it back with Mandy, shall we?

You know Mandy Moore. She plays Rebecca Pearson on NBC’s Emmy-nominated drama series This Is Us and makes us cry every week.

You might also be familiar with Mandy Moore’s early career as a teen pop singer, which spawned the perennial classic “Candy” and launched Mandy as an MTV queen.

She’s currently killing it on the small screen, which — of course — makes us nostalgic for the good old days.

When she stopped by the Today Show earlier this summer, Mandy Moore took a minute to take a walk (to remember) down memory lane.

She recalled looks from 1999 and 2000, similar to his particularly daring ensemble from the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

But few of her teenage fashion moments made her feel like a superhero like her 2016 Golden Globes dress.

Moore rated one of her first red carpet outfits from the 1999 Billboard Awards, which she treated as her unofficial homecoming dance since she couldn’t attend hers. Inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow, Moore wore a pink turtleneck cashmere sweater on top of a pink and green plaid floor-length gown. Unfortunately, present-day Mandy isn’t so impressed. She tells Today:

"“I remember I had pink Prada sandals on underneath and I was so excited because they were the fanciest shoes I’d ever had in my life. This was a real low point for me, I’m going to be honest. This was not a highlight of my style career.”"

Hey, every look can’t be as instantly iconic as this one.

In the video on Today, Moore reflects on more of her earliest red carpet moments, essentially flipping through her high school yearbook — except her memories were snapped for the world to see. She passes on a feathered crop top and denim skirt combo, but she finds a look she actually wouldn’t mind wearing today. That might be a Throwback Thursday first!

Watch Mandy Moore reflect a few of her favorite and most cringe-worthy early 2000s fashion statements in the video below!
