Season 1: “Human Flesh”

Season 1 is kind of a mixed bag. The show didn’t really know what particular direction they were going on, judging by some of the humor, visuals and characters. Some of the episodes are bad while others are great. That’s why the best episode of Season 1 had to be its premiere episode, “Human Flesh.”

The episode introduced the world to Bob’s Burgers and fans (myself included) couldn’t be happier. It definitely had a lot of solid moments such as Linda’s way to remember their anniversary date, Bob learning kisses tips for her and the restaurant finally getting back on its feet. After three grand openings already, it was an intriguing tale to start the series off with.

The low point of the episode was the “Child Molester” burger but the bright side is the crew has apologized for the joke. The humor is a little bit edgier and cruder than the show is now but thankfully, they ironed that out. There were other great episodes in Season 1, but nothing can ever really top the first episode, right?

Bolstered by a great voice cast and instant chemistry, the show started off on a successful note and it’s still going strong to this day. Seven seasons later, they must have been doing something right when they created that episode.

Honorable Mentions: “Art Crawl”, “Lobsterfest”, “Spaghetti Western & Meatballs” and “Sheesh! Cab, Bob?”
