Season 3: “God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins”

The first-holiday episode of Bob’s Burgers makes the list. Season 3 was a phenomenal season and really set the tone for what the show was going to be. It was also the first season to include holiday episodes, making this choice incredibly difficult.

While the Thanksgiving episode was a solid effort, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins” edged it out as the best of Season 3. This episode is the first Christmas episode of the show and was a goofy but sweet holiday episode. The high points of the episodes include the Christmas window displays, the kids and Bob hunting for Nadine and the kids giving up their Christmas money to reunite Chet and Nadine.

The episode is bolstered by the voice-acting of Zach Galifianakis as Chet who plays off the main cast extremely well. The episode didn’t have that many bad moments, maybe Gene saying he had to talk to Uncle Ernie as a code for pooping since he just died but other than that, it was pretty good. The family almost had a nice Christmas after an especially busy couple days after struggling for so long.

“God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins” helped set the precedent for future Christmas episode and was the perfect combination of sweet and silly. It still easily stands as one of the best holiday episodes the show has produced.

Honorable Mentions: “An Indecent Thanksgiving Proposal”, “Full Bars”, “O.T.: The Outside Toilet” and “Ear-sy Rider”
