Season 7: “Paraders of the Lost Float”

Season 7 was another heavy-handed season with a lot of great holiday episodes, a great season finale and premiere as well as some more character-centered stories. Picking the best of the bunch was difficult, but Season 7’s finale really stole the show. “Paraders of the Lost Float” was such a classic Bob’s Burgers episode and reminded us why we love the show so much.

The episode followed the Belchers and Teddy, entering a float contest to win some prize money. At the promise of a win, Bob reluctantly agrees and the family enters and it’s all great until Jimmy Pesto shows up and their plan goes down in flames. The night only get worse as their float gets destroyed and they get lost.

Eventually, Bob realizes it’s not about the cash prize but about having fun. The family and the rest of the parade-goers join him. The sliver lining is the family still wins even though their float ended up being crappy. This episode is everything Bob’s Burgers stands for and that’s working with what you’ve got but still having fun.

This episode really helped wrap up the season before its bonus episode but it was the true finale. As for season 8, there are high expectations but the cast and crew have exceeded them before. All we can hope is the show keeps producing quality episodes as they have in the past.

Honorable Mentions: “The Last Gingerbread House on the Left”, “There’s No Business Like Mr. Business Business”, “Flu-ouise” and “Eggs for Days.”
