“A Father’s Advice” had the most timely Kardashian joke imaginable.

Shout out to the writers of This Is Us. It may have been low-hanging fruit, but the timing of Kevin’s off-handed Kardashian-Jenner pregnancy joke on “A Father’s Advice” could not have been more timely.

Spoilers — but not particularly serious ones, obviously — ahead for the This Is Us season 2 premiere.

In the present day, Kevin is on the phone with Sophie, who he has recently learned won’t be able to make it out to Los Angeles to be with him on his birthday and attend a double date with Toby and Kate. He makes a joke about missing out on all the Kardashian hot spots, and then tells her not to worry because the family isn’t going anywhere: “They’re like gremlins — there will be a million more of them tomorrow.”

Damn, Kev. Gremlins is admittedly a little harsh, but the “million more tomorrow” is outright eerie. That the This Is Us writers would write such a perfect, off-handed joke months ago for an episode that would air the same day the Kardashian family announced the third expected Kardashian-Jenner pregnancy is nothing less than prescient.

To recap: Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are expecting another child with a surrogate. Over the weekend, Kylie Jenner pregnancy rumors heated up (to the point it’s basically fact) — she’s expecting with her boyfriend, the rapper Travis Scott. And last but not least, Khloe Kardashian announced mere hours before the This Is Us season 2 premiere that she and Cleveland Cavaliers boo Tristan Thompson were expecting as well.

This Is Us returned Sept. 26 with the season 2 premiere, “A Father’s Advice” and will air every Tuesday for 10 (!) straight weeks, giving you ample, regular block time for cathartic crying.

And, who knows, maybe more prescient pop culture jokes?
