Alexandra Breckenridge of This Is Us talks pregnancy, hiding baby bump for show

Alexandra Breckenridge, who plays Kevin’s ex-wife Sophie, has been pregnant during this season of This Is Us and they have done a great job of hiding it.

The fans are getting to know Alexandra’s character Sophie this season on the show. She is Kevin’s ex-wife and they have rekindled their relationship. It turns out that she has been pregnant this season of the show and Alexandra is about to have her first daughter. She already has a son 13-month-old Jack. She shared about when she found out it was a little girl.

"“I found out I was having a girl on my birthday. My doctor called and I said, ‘This is the best birthday present ever!’ I really wanted to have a girl.”"

It turns out that she was really scared to tell everyone on the show that she was pregnant since she had just started This Is Us, but it turns out that they were really understanding about it. They have done such a great job hiding her belly that a lot of people didn’t even realize the actress was expecting. Putting a pregnancy in her storyline just wouldn’t have been the right time at all. She shared that they have been able to put her behind things and cut around the bump to make it work.

Alexandra is just a few weeks from welcoming her little girl. No word on how this will affect filming, but they are still filming this season. Sophie is an important character, but they could leave her out of a few episodes and it wouldn’t be a big deal, so hopefully, they just work around it all. It doesn’t look like Kevin and Sophie will be splitting anytime soon.
