Chrissy Metz talks about how miscarriage is normal, women shouldn’t feel shame
Chrissy Metz is speaking out about how miscarriage is normal and something women shouldn’t feel ashamed of before the big episode about Kate Pearson losing her baby.
Next week on This Is Us, the episode will be all about Kate Pearson and how she ends up having a miscarriage. Season 2 Episode 9 will be called Number Two and it is going to focus on this big life-changing issue with Kate.
Last week, ended with Randall letting Kevin know that Kate had lost the baby. The preview for next week was heartbreaking, showing how emotional next week’s episode will be for everyone. Chrissy Metz talked to ET about her thoughts on why this episode is so important.
"“One in five women will experience miscarriage, sometimes even multiple miscarriages, and these are things we don’t talk about. There is so much shame around them and you feel like you are inadequate or [it was] something you did, it was your fault. But it’s actually very natural.”"
So many women have gone through a miscarriage in their life and will be able to relate to what Kate Pearson is going through next week. This will even be hard on her relationship with Toby. Chis Sullivan went on and explained more.
"It’s a conversation that not many people want to have. But that conversation needs to happen more. I think a lot of people go through that and it’s a difficult thing. It’s a shameful thing. There are a lot of really complicated emotions involved with something like that. I think we do a very delicate job and a very respectful job of having that conversation.”"
Next week will be difficult but is also an episode of an amazing show that needs to be out there. They are opening up a conversation about something so many women have dealt with in their life.
