Jared Padalecki said his nightmare would be getting up on stage with a guitar. Fans applauded him for overcoming that nightmare at Supernatural Honolulu 2017.

If you missed it on Twitter this weekend, Supernatural held another Creation Ent Convention. This weekend was in Honolulu, and featured a number of present and former cast members get on stage to perform. Most fans are used to seeing Jensen Ackles get on stage to sing, but not Jared Padalecki that much.

Many will be aware that Padalecki battles mental illness. He opened up about clinical depression a few years ago and recently admitted that he also suffers from anxiety. His biggest nightmare is getting on stage with a guitar, so fans were definitely not expecting to see him on stage with said instrument at Supernatural Honolulu 2017.

If you were on Twitter throughout the weekend, you would have seen immense praise for the actor to overcome this anxiety. He got up on the Saturday night with Ackles and Louden Swain to perform “Free Falling.”

Catch the performance below and see Padalecki in action.

Does this mean we’ll see more of Padalecki on stage? While it will be fun, it’s worth acknowledging just how hard and nerve-wracking this would have been for him. He’s overcome the anxiety this time and there’s hope that he can again.
