Milo Ventimiglia is the father on This Is Us and it turns out that he is actually overprotective over the cast of the show as well.

Us Weekly got the chance to talk to Milo Ventimiglia recently. It turns out that even though he isn’t Jack Pearson in real-life, Milo has the back of the Big Three all the time. He shared his thoughts about it.

"“I’m definitely the father, [Mandy Moore’s] definitely the mother. But I think we both feel protective of our group. Not just our cast but our entire group. There is a level of looking out for everyone. I know Susan [Kelechi Watson] has called me ‘Papa Pearson’ or ‘Papa Bear’ before. So if she says it it must be true.”"

The cast of this show is very close outside of their work time. They attended Justin Hartley’s wedding recently and Mandy Moore is already planning to invite them to her wedding when she ties the knot.

Another thing that Milo talked about is how he never really gets to work with Justin Hartley or Sterling K. Brown. When they are filming scenes, his character has already passed away. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t support them, though. He shared that he is a huge fan of their work. Milo also feels like this is one of the best jobs that he has ever had the chance to do. It also turns out that Milo and Mandy both like to mentor the young children on the set. It sounds like the cast of This Is Us is just one big, happy family.

Don’t miss new episodes of This Is Us when it returns to NBC with new episodes on January 2.
