Appropriately titled, “Super Bowl Sunday,” the post-Super Bowl episode of This Is Us will unfold on Super Bowl Sunday both in the present and past. As teased in the official synopsis, the episode will find Randall throwing a Super Bowl Party while Kevin and Kate “reconnect with their past.”
The hour is also set to flash back to that fateful night when the Pearson family’s world as turned upside down to pick up with the aftermath of the fire which began in Episode 13.
First Look Teases
Although Jack’s death and the fire that destroyed the Pearson family home are unmentioned in the official synopsis for the This Is Us post-Super Bowl episode, the cliffhanger set up in the Jan. 23 episode of the show appears to be a crucial part of the episode – at least judging by the episode’s promo.

In the promo, it is promised that all of our questions will be answered within the episode meaning that fans will finally find out what exactly led to Jack’s death and why Kate blames herself for her father’s passing.
Interestingly enough, though, Jack is not featured at all within any of the first promotional photos released ahead of the episode nor are the past versions of the Big 3. Instead, fans are greeted to a series of images set in the present day giving us a glimpse at how each member of the family will be celebrating the Super Bowl this year. It seems only fitting given the fact that episode will air after the Super Bowl and that it was on Super Bowl Sunday that Jack presumably perished.

As seen in the images, Randall and Beth appear to be hosting a Super Bowl viewing party, Kate and Toby are pictured working through some things in their apartment while Kevin looks to be giving yoga a go and riding solo this Super Bowl Sunday – though with the Steelers not in the big game we completely understand his lack of desire to watch the game…

When to Watch
Heading into the weekend, This Is Us’ post-Super Bowl episode is scheduled to begin at 10:15 p.m. ET following the game and presentation of the Vince Lombardy trophy to the winner of this year’s game. However, Super Bowl’s are notorious for running long so it will be crucial for fan to set their DVRs over in order to guarantee they don’t miss a minute of the action.
Our advice? Set your DVRs to the max length in which you can extend a timer to help make sure your DVR doesn’t stop recording halfway through the episode!
