Will Khalil become the mole to flush out Black Lightning?

Tobias Whale has a proposal for Khalil on Black Lightning, but could it involve being a mole to flush out the vigilante?

At the end of the last episode of Black Lightning, “Black Jesus,” Khalil learned that Tobias Whale had been the one donating games consoles and helped his mom to pay the rent. This was all to lure him in with an opportunity. It looks like he’ll join The 100 Gang, but in what capacity? Could it be to lure out Black Lightning?

Tobias Whale doesn’t know Black Lightning’s secret identity

It’s worth pointing out first that Whale still has no idea that Jefferson Pierce and Black Lightning are the same person. Nobody except Peter Gambit and Lynn know that. But that doesn’t necessary mean Whale doesn’t think Khalil can find out. After all, Black Lightning was there when Khalil was shot. There’s a chance that Khalil saw the vigilante’s real identity.

Whale may also have suspicions about the real identity. After all, Jefferson has been tried to keep his students safe from The 100 Gang and his daughters have been extremely vocal about protecting the streets. Since Khalil is close to Jefferson’s younger daughter, it would make sense to go through her to flush Jefferson out as Black Lightning.

Tobias may just want to hurt Jefferson

However, Whale may have no idea and no suspicions about the real identity of the vigilante. He may just want to take down Jefferson, who has become a problem for The 100 Gang. As principal of the school, Jefferson has looked at protecting his students from the gang itself but also from the drugs on the rounds. Khalil being close to Jennifer certainly makes him suitable for an inside attack.

Because of the news of his severed spinal cord and Whale helping his mom financially, Khalil won’t want to rock the boat. Despite feeling uneasy, he will likely go ahead with the plan until it’s too late.
