This Is Us season 3 scoop: Will we get to see Rebecca and Miguel’s backstory?

How did Rebecca and Miguel get together and marry? Jon Huertas says answers to that backstory are on the way in This Is Us Season 3.

The second season of This Is Us hasn’t even ended, and we’re already gathering our first bits of scoop for the fall’s third season. Hey, it’s never too soon to plan ahead, and if we can grab hints from the cast and crew, we’ll take what we can get as early as we can. Since we now know what killed Jack and disrupted the Pearson family, we can train our focus on the various questions in the periphery. Namely, how did Rebecca and Miguel end up married?

Considering Season 2 kept fans on their toes and reaching for the tissues, This Is Us surely won’t steer far away from its winning formula for its third round of 18 episodes. The road to Rebecca and Miguel’s second chance union will undoubtedly be paved with all of the emotions because of Jack. But watching Rebecca find love again might just be the ticket to moving forward from that Super Bowl episode. So, when can we expect to explore Rebecca and Miguel’s relationship?

Jon Huertas, who plays Miguel on This Is Us, recently spoke with TV Guide and shared exclusive details about what fans can anticipate in the remaining episodes of Season 2 and what’s to come in the upcoming Season 3. You better get ready for a whole lot more Miguel!

While nothing’s surely official about Season 3 as Dan Fogelman and the writers haven’t begun penning scripts, a basic outline for the 18 episodes could exist and include necessary bits about Rebecca’s second act. It’s no secret that Miguel hasn’t been the biggest hit with fans or the Big Three themselves. Who can follow Jack Pearson? But Season 3 can and will show us another side of Rebecca Pearson’s second husband.

Huertas notes that we’ll find out how Kate and Randall learn of their mother’s reunion with their father’s best friend (that’s a sentence), though we already know that Kevin struggles with him in the present. Kate and Randall tolerate and even like him, but Kevin had a different relationship with Miguel. They wallowed together in the mall food court. Does Kevin see this as betrayal?
