1. Cheryl’s random act of cruelty.

Remember that kiss between Archie and Betty way back when they were hunting Black Hood and thought they wouldn’t make it out alive? Well, neither has Cheryl. She’s kept this juicy tidbit neatly folded in the back of her purse for a rainy day, and look at that — the skies are crying. When Veronica un-invites Cheryl from the couples only getaway, Cheryl calls Jughead and drops the blackmail mic.

Look, I’m not saying that Cheryl’s a mastermind and could probably clean up our government in an afternoon, but I’m not saying she isn’t either. She knows what she’s doing. The majority of Bughead and Varchie’s vacation is marred by the awkwardness of the kiss. No one seems to care since there are much bigger fish to fry in Riverdale. Regardless, Veronica goes out of her way to kiss Jughead to level the playing field. See, teen drama!

2. Josie spills her mom’s dirty little secret.

It’s been obvious that Mayor McCoy and Sheriff Keller have a thing going on, but now it’s clear as crystal to Josie. However, Josie isn’t nearly as skilled in the art of manipulation as Miss Cheryl. Rather than sitting back and collecting ammo, she hand delivers the secret to Kevin. The whole arrangement implodes, as does the calm of Kevin’s home life. Josie feels guilty for selfishly dragging Kevin into the mess, and the two find it in their hearts to accept their parents’ affair. Does a happy new family emerge, or will these divorces get real ugly real fast?
