Chicago Fire may take a break next week, but it’s back the week after with a two-hour movie event and someone is going to get shot.

We’ve only just got Chicago Fire back and it’s taking another break, but there is good news. The break is one week and will return with a two-hour movie event. The promo is already out and it’s clear that someone is going to get shot, but the big question is who?

It shouldn’t need to be said, but we are moving into potential spoiler territory. All this is speculation based on the photos, trailer and synopsis, though!

The promo photos may have given this away. It looks like Otis is the one on the stretcher and now it’s completely understandable why Cruz wants to rush into the building. He and Otis are best friends, so they would both put their lives on the line for each other.

Another image makes it look like Otis is going to be in critical care. Cruz is spotted in a chapel, possibly praying for his best friend to make it out of this alive.

While the promo certainly has us on the edges of out seats, there’s still a niggling part that makes me wonder whether they’ll go through with the danger. Chicago Fire has put members of Firehouse 51 in direct danger multiple times. Both the Season 6 premiere and the return after the Winter Olympics quickly wrapped up the dangerous situations with no severe consequences. Sure, we love that our guys are making it out alive, but they’re anticlimactic ends to harrowing situations. It’s time for the series to step up the game.

This could be that chance. While we definitely don’t want Otis to leave, we need something that reminds us they don’t instantly get out of troublesome situations. By the looks of the promo photos, that’s something we’ll get, but only time will tell. Since it’s a two-hour event, there are high chances that this storyline will be a little more hair-raising.

Firehouse 51 also gathers in the waiting room of Chicago Med. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen something like this happen and every time it does, we get the same chills that we got the very first time we saw it happen. These scenes always remind us that the firehouse is a family and they are always there for one another.

The synopsis also seems to suggest that we’ll finally find out who’s pregnant. Chicago Fire teased this during the midseason break, with many expecting it to be Brett. Well, the synopsis certainly suggests that it will be, based on the clip of someone reaching for a box of pregnancy tests in the trailer. Will Brettonio have a little one on the way?

"After responding to a car accident, Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) become skeptical when a domineering husband continues to answer for his injured wife. Cruz (Joe Minoso) becomes frustrated with Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Mouch (Christian Stolte) when he discovers they have contacted people regarding his “Slamigan” invention without his knowledge. Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) uncovers something meaningful and important to Severide (Taylor Kinney) while Brett (Kara Killmer) discovers some potentially unsettling news."
