Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is about to wrap up it’s first season. Here’s what we learned from the panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

The Cloak & Dagger panel at Comic-Con consisted of cast members Aubrey Joseph, Olivia Holt, Ally Maki and Emma Lahana along with the show runner Joe Pokaksi. Jeph Loeb introduced everyone and showed a sizzle reel from the first episodes. The big news during the panel, though, was that the show has been renewed for a second season.

Aubrey Joseph auditioned for the role of Tyrone while he was going to acting school at USC. He had just started there and the role instantly took him out of college and into doing what he had been attending to do anyway. We saw Ty in his cloak this season, but Marvel wouldn’t reveal if Tandy would get her suit soon.

In addition to the renewal announcement, Loeb mentioned that they’ll return to production this fall. The season isn’t even over yet and they’ll already be starting on the next one shortly. As far as a Runaways crossover goes, Loeb’s response was “Wait and see.”

At the end of the panel, the audience was able to watch some footage from season 2. Loeb also mentioned that Detective O’Reilly just might become her alter ego, Mayhem. With only two episodes left this season, things are heating up and I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out. You can tell that the cast, crew and fans have a huge passion for this show, which makes events like this more exciting to dive into.
