Exactly how fast is Owen Grady? He’s the fastest man alive.

A pyroclastic flow can reach hundreds of miles an hour. Move over Usain Bolt, because you now have a superior. Owen Grady ran down a hill/mountain and completely outpaced deadly gas and volcanic output hurtling down the side of a mountain. Between gravity, slope gradient, and the fact that the volcano was literally launching bombs every other second, it’s amazing he survived. By amazing, I mean ridiculous. If the smoke didn’t kill him, an explosion would have. If he escaped both, the heat would have won.

The entire sequence of him running away from a volcanic explosion is an insult to the collective legacy of the people who died at Pompeii.

Furthermore, there was a preceding scene where he was on the ground, barely recovering from being tranquilized, and only a foot or so away from approaching lava. Given the lava’s color (orange to red), it was approximately 1,100 to 1,600 degrees Fahrenheit. At that temperature, he would go from Chris Pratt to Crisp Rat.
