Spend your Labor Day afternoon watching The Simpsons Movie on FXX!

Before FXX airs their own Labor Day marathon of Simpsons episodes at 6 p.m. EST, the channel will be airing The Simpsons Movie at 4 p.m. EST on Sept. 3.

The Simpsons Movie was directed by David Silverman and was released in 2007. The producers of the movie were Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, Al Jean, Mike Scully, Richard Sakai, and Claudia Katz.

The cast included voice veterans, Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Pamela Hayden, Maggie Roswell, and Tress MacNeille. Guest voices included Tom Hanks, and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Frank Edwin Wright III, and Michael Pritchard.

The Simpsons Movie is about how Homer pollutes the whole town and gets Springfield encased in a gigantic dome. After the family escapes a vengeful mob, they become divided. It’s up to Homer to seek forgiveness from Marge (and the rest of his family) and save his town from EPA’s Russ Cargill. The Simpsons Movie gave us Spider-Pig (or Harry Plopper) too!

It’s interesting to note that when the animated movie came out, it was the eighth highest grossing movie of 2007. It’s safe to say that the movie did well at the box office. You can read more about that fact from Box Office Mojo. This is also the time to say that as a fan, I believe that we need another movie since it’s been over ten years now!

So while you are grilling out for the last time this summer, you can enjoy a very funny movie! Don’t forget to catch the eight-hour Simpsons marathon after the movie either.

Next. Go back to school with these five Simpsons episodes. dark
