Season 1 – Murder House

Christian Serratos

Character: Serratos appeared in the pilot episode of the series as a student of Westfield High. She portrayed Becca, one of Leah’s friends who picked on Violet. The bullying escalated after Violet spit in Leah’s face but that was Serratos’s one and only appearance in the series.

Best known for: Serratos may have only had one brief scene with one line in the first episode of the series but it was certainly a surprise to see her name on the opening credits during a rewatch. Before American Horror Story, Serratos portrayed Suzie Crabgrass in the Nickelodeon series, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide and Angela Weber in the Twilight films. Her most notable role, however, is that of Rosita in the AMC hit series, The Walking Dead, which she is currently still in.

Eric Stonestreet

Character: Stonestreet portrayed Derrick, a patient of Ben Harmon’s who suffered from the fear of urban legends. More specifically, he is afraid of the legend of the “Piggy Man” so he has trouble looking in mirrors or reflective surfaces. After encouragement from Ben (Dylan McDermott), Derrick goes home and bravely performs the “Piggy Man” ritual. Unfortunately, at the time of the ritual, an intruder is hiding behind the shower curtain and kills poor Derrick.

Best known for: Stonestreet appeared in American Horror Story at the same time he appeared in the award-winning sitcom series, Modern Family. Considering Modern Family has been on for a decade, it makes sense if you didn’t catch the series until later and never noticed he appeared in AHS. Stonestreet’s character of Derrick is far different than the chipper portrayal as Cameron Tucker that we’ve gotten to know and love over the years.

Teddy Sears

Character: Sears played Patrick, one of the many ghosts stuck in Murder House. He and his boyfriend Chad (Zachary Quinto) were the previous owners of the house before the Harmon family moved in. There was a lot of obvious tension between Patrick and Chad before their deaths and the complicated relationship carried over into the afterlife. It was later revealed that Tate was Patrick’s killer.

Best known for: Teddy Sears appeared in a number of TV series prior to his work on American Horror Story. After Murder House, he worked on Masters of Sex for 20 episodes before appearing in the CW series, The Flash as the DC villain, Zoom.
