Best one-season shows No. 7: Almost Human

You’re almost there, we are fast approaching the top 5 one-season greatest shows of all time. Up next in number seven is Almost Human, a TV show that is full of great, well-written, originality.

It also has Karl Urban as one of the main stars and you can’t go wrong there.

So, let’s start with that then. Almost Human stars Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Minka Kelly, Mackenzie Crook, Michael Irby, Lili Taylor, Darren E. Scott, and Anthony Konechny. It ran for a total of 13 episodes, was set in the not-so-distant future, and was about a human and an android paired up together as a cop duo.

A friendship becomes apparent between the two, something that didn’t seem possible as the duo take on one problem after the next.

An almost unexpected surprise, the sci-fi series has a bit of everything for everyone. Humor, action, drama, and a meaningful message to the audience as well.

The show was doomed from the start however, the Almost Human pilot didn’t quite click with everyone as the show set up the premise and introduced the characters. As the season progressed things did improved but it was not enough, the damage was already done.

Fox deemed the show as requiring CSI-type viewing numbers in order to survive. Due to the high-quality visuals that the fandom loved, the show had a major budget. This was why Fox stated it required high viewing numbers. It never managed to achieve them though, so in 2014, it was officially canceled.
