1. Season 5 – “The One With All The Thanksgivings”
Dum, da, da, dum! Here it is, Friends fans: the gold medal star, the number one Friends Thanksgiving episode — Season 5, Episode 8, “The One With All The Thanksgivings.” It’s the best. It’s the one you all remember for one particular reason. Even non-Friends fans are aware of this episode, it’s that ionic.
This is, of course, the one where the Turkey ends up on Joey’s head, and eventually Monica’s as well. Each of the friends have a flashback moment as they reveal their worst-ever Thanksgivings. That’s another reason the episode is so great: who doesn’t like a good flashback every now and again?
During the flashbacks, we learn that Phoebe’s worst-ever Thanksgiving was when her arm was blown off during World War I in a field hospital, because she was a combat nurse in a past nurse life, because it’s Phoebe. Monica ended up chopping Chandler’s toe off, and Joey ended up with a Turkey stuck on his head when trying to pull off a prank. It’s one great laugh after another.
However, the laughter fizzles when Chandler gets upset after hearing that the reason he lost his toe was because Monica sought revenge on him after he called her fat a year prior. He ends up leaving, ultimately needing some time to himself.
Monica tries to make things up to him by showing up at his door with a Turkey stuck on her own head. It doesn’t get an immediate response, so she adds a hat and sunglasses to the mix. And with a dance.
Chandler can’t help but appreciate the effort and confesses for the very first time that he loves Monica.
