5. Season 8 – “The One With The Rumor”

Time to reveal the top five Friends Thanksgiving episodes. Claiming the number five spot is the one with Brad Pitt as guest star: “The One With The Rumor.”

Brad Pitt guest stars as Will, a high school friend of Ross, Rachel and Monica’s who used to be really overweight. Since then, Will has lost a ton of weight and looks nothing like what he did back in the day.

When he turns up for Thanksgiving dinner at Monica’s invitation, Will is looking thin, handsome and Brad Pitt-like. However, Will is far from happy when he realizes that Rachel is also at the dinner. She made fun of him throughout high school and he still carries the scars.

We later learn that both Will and Ross co-founded a group together at high school: the “I Hate Rachel Green Club.” Things get even more uncomfortable for Ross when Will reveals to Rachel that not only did they co-found the club, but also started a rumor that Rachel was a hermaphrodite.

As this is going on, the rest of the gang try their best to steer clear of the blast radius. Joey is the most successful, and ends up eating an entire 19-pound turkey by himself.

This episode is hilarious on a number of fronts. Those in the know will remember that at the time, Aniston and Pitt were married, which makes for a few good meta jokes.
