30 greatest Thanksgiving episodes of all time

Episode: Season 1, Episode 9, “Thanksgiving”
What’s on the menu: Believe it or not, Felicity has some of the best Thanksgiving episodes on television. Like many shows, the Thanksgiving episodes aren’t built completely around the holiday and stall the narrative. Each of the turkey day celebrations are deeply specific to what’s going on in the characters’ lives, which makes these episodes such a joy to watch. Even though Season 2 and Season 4’s Thanksgiving episodes put up a good fight, there’s nothing quite like the original.
In the first season’s Thanksgiving episode, fittingly titled “Thanksgiving,” Felicity rings in her first one on her own, on the East Coast, without her parents. There are all sorts of intrigue coursing through the gang’s first shared feast together, as Noel’s girlfriend Hanna (guest star Jennifer Garner) visits and Ben misses out on his plane ride home. Oh, and Felicity and Noel share a sordid moment together caught by Ben. Can’t anyone get through a holiday without scandal?
Why we’re thankful for it: Felicity consistently delivered stories that were a little more honest, emotional, and raw than its peers while still employing the addictive melodrama that keeps us invested in both character and narrative. There’s no better example of its strengths than Season 1’s Thanksgiving episode, which remains a treat to watch each year even if you aren’t in the midst of binge or know what’s going on. Also, Jennifer Garner. She’s in the episode. Enough said.
