25. Fuller House

Episode: Season 2, Episode 6, “Fuller Thanksgiving”

What’s on the menu: Obviously, the Tanner-Fuller-Gibbler clan doesn’t do anything halfway. A traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings is on the table, including the requisite family dysfunction. In the Full House reboot’s first Thanksgiving episode, DJ hosts an, ahem, full house for the holiday and plans for dinner to go perfectly. But when you invite Danny, Jesse, Becky, the Katsopolis twins, and Joey and his children, it will be imperfectly perfect.

In “Fuller Thanksgiving,” DJ tries to stay two steps ahead of the ensuing holiday madness, but nothing ever goes according to plan in Tanner manor. When Danny arrives, he’s in the midst of a midlife crisis, which requires a notorious Tanner talk. Meanwhile, Jesse and Becky disagree about the prospect of adopting a baby, and Joey’s four misbehaved children drive Jackson, Ramona, and Max absolutely crazy. What else is extended family for if not to drive you crazy?

Why we’re thankful for it: Taking notes from the Thanksgiving episode of the original series, Fuller House creates a warm and touching moment for the fans emotionally invested in this family and the spirit of the holiday. Notably absent from the dinner, Michelle once again sends her regrets since Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen still haven’t been convinced (and probably never will be) to reprise their most famous role. Nonetheless, “Fuller Thanksgiving” mixes together all the elements that make the show a nostalgic, family-friendly destination.
