The Simpsons recap: Ned ‘n Edna’s Blend

In the follow-up to The Ned-Liest Catch, viewers of The Simpsons find out the future of Edna and Ned’s relationship.

Ned auditions for his usual leading role in a play depicting the Passion, but winds up losing it to Homer. Back at the Simpsons’ house, he talks to Lisa and begins to get nervous about his role. The play debuts and Homer does well until the cross holding him up collapses and it falls on Ned.

He’s taken away in an ambulance and the medic informs Edna that only immediately family can go along inside it when she tries to climb in. She shocks everyone by revealing that she’s his wife (the results of voting on the future of Edna and Ned’s relationship) and everyone begins congratulating them at the hospital when they come to visit Ned.

After Edna and Ned return home she begins to adjust to their unique family routine. While Homer and Marge offer to throw them a party to celebrate their marriage, Bart gives Edna some advice on how to deal with Rod and Todd on a rainy day. After he suggests that she get them more into the outside word, Edna goes to Rod and Todd’s parent teacher conferences when Ned is busy, where she is shocked at the curriculum. Thinking it beneath them, she responds by pulling them out of that school and Ned agrees to send them to Springfield Elementary.

But since he doesn’t like this, the two begin fighting about Rod and Todd at the Simpsons’ party. Edna is offended at how Ned doesn’t seem to trust her and she eventually leaves with the boys.

Ned spends the night at the Simpsons’ out of shame and eventually witnesses Homer and Marge arguing. This makes him realize that there are some things spouses will not agree on and that’s ok. Ned pays a visit to Springfield Elementary and apologizes to Edna in front of everyone. She apologizes in kind and they celebrate with a kiss.
