As the Simpsons headed into season 6, the couch gags began to get more creative and elaborate. Here’s every couch gag from the sixth season.
Bart of Darkness – Instead of the Simpsons sitting on the couch, the couch assembles itself before sitting on the family, crushing them as a result.
Lisa’s Rival – The living room is flooded with water and the family swims their way to the couch. Once on the couch, Bart takes off a scuba mask and Homer pokes his finger in his ear to dry it out.
Another Simpsons clip Show – Repeat of the couch gag from Homer Goes to College.
Itchy & Scratchy Land – The family beams onto the couch in a parody of Star Trek.
Sideshow Bob Roberts – Repeat of Boy-Scoutz ‘n the Hood couch gag.
Treehouse of Horror V – Since each member of the family is built like Frankenstein’s monster and contains each other’s body parts, they swap parts until they are pretty close to normal.

Bart’s Girlfriend – Repeat of Boy-Scoutz ‘n the Hood couch gag.
Lisa on Ice – After the Simpsons sit on the couch, they get shot up into the ceiling.
Homer Badman – The family chases the couch after it slides down what seems like an endless hallway.
Grampa vs. Sexual Inadequacy – The family all runs into an endlessly repeating background shot.
Fear of Flying – Repeat of the couch gag from Lisa’s First Word.
Homer the Great – The living room is now part of a surreal new setting where the family can enter in various ways because there are multiple doors and staircases.
And Maggie Makes Three – In a parody of James Bond, the living room is seen through the POV of a gun. Homer then walks in and shoots the unseen gunman, who falls dead as the camera bleeds.
Bart’s Comet – The family and the living room is seen in the black and white style of an old vintage cartoon.
Homie the Clown – Repeat of Bart of Darkness.
Bart vs. Australia – Repeat of Lisa’s Rival.
Homer vs. Patty and Selma – The Simpsons are beamed onto the couch again, but this time the burst of light is now brighter.
A Star is Burns – The family’s size is reversed, making Homer the smallest and Maggie the largest.
Two Dozen and One Greyhounds – Repeat of Homer Badman.
The PTA Disbands – Repeat of Homer the Great.
Round Springfield – Repeat of A Star is Burns.
The Springfield Connection – Repeat of And Maggie Makes Three.
Lemon of Troy – Repeat of Bart’s Comet.
