Last January, I made a few 2018 New Year’s resolutions for Bob’s Burgers. With the end of the year rapidly approaching, it’s time to see if they came true.

New Year’s resolutions, we all make them. Whether it’s to exercise more, be spontaneous or save money, there’s something for everyone. While most of us make them for ourselves, other make them for their businesses, careers or lives. In early 2018, I made 5 New Year’s resolutions for Bob’s Burgers.

The show was in the midst of its eighth season and riding a high. These resolutions were things I wanted for the series as a whole. Whether it be something to do with the characters, a plotline or merchandise, the list featured it all.

With 2018 coming to a close, I thought it’d be fun to look over them. The show has grown a lot in the past year, there’s no denying that. This is just a fun little experiment to see if the show ended up fulfilling any of the things I hoped for. Maybe I’ll even do one for 2019 but for now, let’s just focus on 2018.

Before moving to the list, let’s look back on some of the show’s accomplishments in 2018. The show aired the rest of its eighth season and began airing its ninth. Bob’s Burgers teamed up with Blue Apron and was part of a meal kit for three months. The series moved from its usual 7:30 timeslot to a prime 8:30 timeslot. It also received an Emmy nod for Outstanding Animated Program.

Overall, 2018 was a good year for Bob’s Burgers and its fans. We can only hope 2019 is every bit as good. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet. It’s time to look at my 2018 resolutions for 2018 and see if they came true.
