Colony

Date of finale: July 25, 2018

Number of seasons: 3

Why it will be missed: This was one of those alien invasion shows that made a lot of sense and drew you in. Never really knowing what had happened and why to bring about this infiltration. We picked up with the family we were following secretly on opposite sides. Season 3 had pulled everyone together and there was hope, despite the devastating death of one of their own.

Colony offered plenty of potential for the future. Like Ash vs Evil Dead, the series was canceled just days before the season finale aired, leaving plenty of questions.

Daredevil

Date of finale: October 19, 2018

Number of seasons: 3

Why it will be missed: Daredevil was the biggest shock cancellation of 2018. There’s no doubt about that. As one of Netflix’s highest-rated shows, everyone expected this to be safe. At the same time, there was the niggling feeling that the series would be canceled after we said goodbye to Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

With it looking like Disney+ won’t get the chance to pick up the series, we’re not going to get a continuation of our blind vigilante. He was one of the most relatable Netflix-Marvel characters and now we don’t get to see how a fourth season could have worked out.

Dietland

Date of finale: July 30, 2018

Number of seasons: 1

Why it will be missed: Based on Sarai Walker’s 2015 novel, Dietland was canceled by Netflix after just one season. And it’s a shame. This dark comedy was one that took on the battle of the sexes. Perfect for the current climate, it was also fresh and funny.

This wasn’t just a typical series of not being happy in your own skin. It was a series that focused on finding yourself within the middle of social expectations and feminist pushes.
