3. Robin / Nightwing (Brenton Thwaites)

Robin is definitely the lead character of Titans, and an absolute necessity – but with that being said, he’s on a journey of self discovery that has made us feel like we’re not quite seeing him where he’s meant to be just yet. Seeing Robin take out a group of street thugs in the first episode and his overt brutality throughout the season made him one of the more feared and interesting characters who was vastly different than we originally expected him to be.

Thwaites brings a scorned Robin to life wonderfully, with lighter moments that indicate he will eventually be able to display a more well-rounded Robin once the character overcomes some identity obstacles he’ll be facing in the sophomore season.

4. Donna Troy (Conor Leslie)

Now mind you, Donna Troy isn’t present until the later half and mostly Nightwing (excuse me, Robin) centric scenes, but she is pivotal to the Titans core group in the original source material. What makes Donna Troy such a high number on our ranking despite a smaller part is that she isn’t struggling in the same sense as the other Titans. Seeing Troy feel confident in herself enough to show heroism as a photojournalist aside from her impressive power means that we are looking at one of the more stable group members who will play a role in forming the Titans as a solid team. Either way, we’re hopeful for more Donna Troy in season 2!
