While most people have been looking for the missing passengers, we seem to have forgotten to look at why the plane time traveled in the first place. We’re back to that question in Manifest Season 1, Episode 11. Here’s what to expect and how to watch it live.

Titled “Contrails,” it’s all about the lightning storm that the plane traveled through in 2013. The pilot knows that this was like nothing he’s seen before and is sure it’s got something to do with moving five years into the future. But to prove this, he needs to find another block of dark lightning.

It looks like he does according to the trailer. He’s so sure he’s right, he’s willing to fly himself and a passenger through it, believing he’ll end up in 2024. Is that where he’ll go? Will we spend the next few episodes without the pilot, wondering where he’s gone? Could we see a five-year time jump?

More importantly, if it is possible to time travel, how do we know that it’s always five years into the future? Is it possible that he could go five years into the past? What about 10 years into the future? There are so many things we don’t know, and it’s not surprising Ben wants the pilot to stick around to try to figure things out with him.

Meanwhile, we still have plenty of questions from the last episode. Some people are more susceptible to the callings than others, and it’s clear Cal is one of those people. Can Ben and Michaela protect him from whoever wants to make him a test subject?
