This Is Us: SAG silver carpet round up

The Fam was looking fab on the silver carpet as the Pearsons made their big entrance at Sunday’s 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. The Big Three turned out in style, as did Milo and Mandy, and some of the extended family. Here’s how they looked and what they got up to, starting with our personal hero, Jack Pearson himself.

Milo Ventimiglia

Dashing as always, Milo Ventimiglia turned up at the 2019 SAG awards in a classic tux and charmed the crowds. Just look at that lopsided smirk and killer mustache! Not very many people these days can pull off a mustache like that. Ventimiglia spent his silver carpet time schmoozing with friends and colleagues, notably striking up a conversation with Bradley Cooper.

Ventimiglia is nominated in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for This Is Us – an award which the cast won at last year’s SAG awards.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore showed up in a stunning Jason Wu gown with a sharp slit that complimented and balanced Moore’s sharp parted ponytail. While Moore sometimes opts for a more wavy, boho slant on red carpets and events, her look has lately been more modern and classically silhouetted. Her look on the SAG silver carpet says it all about this beautiful, classy lady. She’s thought of everything, from the elegant simplicity of her gown to the side her hair was parted on.

Sterling K. Brown

This power couple worked the carpet like it was no one’s business. Honestly, there is nothing and no one as cool at the SAG awards as Sterling K. Brown and wife Ryan Michelle Bathe, and that includes all of his This Is Us castmates. No one can even hope to keep up with these two. Brown was looking badass in aviators and a sleek tux, while Bathe rocked an amazing gold beaded gown. Brown took time off from struttin’ his stuff to catch up with TV brother Justin Hartley. The two are absolutely adorable. In the left hand corner you can see Bathe catching up with Hartley’s wife Chrishell Stause. Brown was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for This Is Us, but lost out to Jason Bateman for Ozark.

Justin Hartley

Justin Hartley even looks good posing awkwardly for a selfie with fans. In a situation where most of us would look our weirdest and most contorted, Hartley has elegance and poise. Just look at that svelte silhouette! I guess that’s why he’s attending an awards show and we’re not. While the rest of the cast went in to the ceremony, Hartley gave interviews and joked about him being the This Is Us cast member no one likes, before talking about how everyone really gets along and likes each other. Aww! They really are like a big family!

Chrissy Metz

Chrissy Metz rocked blue at last year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards – along with most of the other female cast members of This Is Us in a bizarre coincidence – and rocked blue even better this year. She wore a floor length classic black strapless gown accented by flowing blue tulle. As beautiful as she was last year, I think this year she has definitely stepped up her game. There is something I love about a classic, elegant silhouette with an edge of the modern to it. And while the This Is Us ladies didn’t all turn up in blue this year, Chrissy Metz’s gown nicely compliments her on screen mother’s wardrobe choice. The classic lines, the black gown, the off the shoulder/strappless neck – while completely distinctive, there is still an echo of mother/daughter to their choices.
