From crash diets to mock trials, Will & Grace tackles everything from body positivity to the bond between mother and daughter. Let’s recap with the five best quotes!

What happens when Karen reunites with her estranged stepdaughter? She takes her to court. When Will realizes Karen’s estranged stepdaughter Olivia (guest star Aya Cash) is a student in his law class, the opportunity presents itself to hold a relationship-repairing mock trial. Of course, they’re fighting over a necklace, but much more has been made of much less on Will & Grace.

Elsewhere, Grace and Jack embark on a dangerous and ill-fated crash diet that only leads to clashes with croutons and a bitter run-in with Girl Scouts. But their misery isn’t all for nothing, as they confront their motives for dieting and learn an important lesson about body positivity.

Let’s recap the latest episode of Will & Grace with the gang’s five sickest burns!

1. “Is it possible that your taste in porn has gotten sadder?”

When Jack discovers a video of online ukulele lessons on Will’s computer, Will confesses that a few evaluations from students have gotten under his skin. They said he had a handle on the material, but his teaching style lacked spontaneity. One semester with Will and those students can read him like a book. However, his newest methods might not wow his new class.

2. “Does she still sleep in a casket and live off the blood of villagers?”

For his first tort seminar, Will decides to assume the persona and style of Judge Judy for mock trials, which was probably the wrong direction to go in to score better evaluations. Will realizes that one of his students is Karen’s stepdaughter Olivia, who he learns has been estranged from Karen since her divorce from Stan. The plot thickens.

3. “I have never been too busy to yell at a maid!”

Karen comes marching into Will’s classroom demanding her black-heart diamond necklace that she believes Olivia stole. All of this bad blood between the former stepmother and daughter gives Will the bright idea to put them on the stand for mock trial, since this is a matter of property law. After arguing and throwing barbs at each other, Will rules in the favor of Karen. But Olivia reveals she thought the necklace was a gift from her mother, which melts Karen’s black heart.

4. “You may have ruined your mother’s body, but you’re not gonna ruin mine.”

The gang returns home from dinner, and Grace and Jack express how bloated and tired they feel. Before either of them can eat a fallen cannoli off the floor, their pants rip and they vow to diet together. You’d think dieting as a pair and holding each other accountable would work, but Grace and Jack can’t even manage to make a salad without turning the decision against croutons into a competition of willpower. In the end, their plan to lick the croutons backfires… big time.

5. “I’m subtracting 7 pounds for my bra and feelings.”

After nearly being broken by a box of croutons, Grace and Jack last a week on their diet, but at what cost? They’re sluggish, starving, and obviously not approaching weight loss the healthy way. The true test of strength arrives when they’re approached by two girls selling treats, and it’s then that their lightheaded rage blackouts sober them up. Following their weigh in, Grace and Jack reject the societal pressure of weight loss and resolve to go easier on themselves.
