4. Girls Gone Wild

After Penny decides she can’t keep Leonard’s secret she tells the girls all about who was at the celebrity Dungeons and Dragons game, including a hilarious moment where she shows Bernadette a picture of Joe Manganiello, who was present at the game. Bernadette explains that she never saw Magic Mike because “Howard made them leave when he realized the movie wasn’t about magic.” After this revelation, the girls get it into their heads that they need to start playing Dungeons and Dragons again.

This results in a pathetically obvious visit to Will’s Professor Proton set to express to him their newfound interest in Dungeons and Dragons. Will immediately realizes their intentions and asks them if they’re proud of themselves, to which they sheepishly respond “No.”

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that Leonard blabbed to Penny and Will is nobody’s fool. Lucky for the girl’s, their attempts to meet Joe will soon pay off as they get invited to the game at Will’s house.

5. Will invites the ladies over

He quickly calls Leonard and tells him he is no longer welcome to the Dungeons and Dragons game night. Soon after, Leonard unwittingly confesses to the guys that he was disinvited to the game which sparks excitement that an open seat is available. A moment later, it cuts to Will’s house and Sheldon, Raj, Howard, and Leonard (wanting back in the game) are begging to fill the spot.

Will then confesses his frustration that he knows they are not wanting to play with him but are instead using him because he has celebrity friends. Being hurt, he says none of them are welcome and shuts the door in their faces.

Imagine Leonard’s frustration when a few scenes later, Will encourages the girls to take a picture of themselves at the game with all of the celebrities and text it to all of the guys. Upon receiving the text, with a chagrined look on his face, Leonard admits, “We probably deserved that.”

Final thoughts

This was actually one of the funniest episodes of the season making great use of the cameos. Usually, when they have a celebrity guest star it’s just played in a very gimmicky manner but here it adds to the humor fantastically.

Plus, I love how art imitates life with this episode, especially in regards to Joe Manganiello. The actor is well known for having his own D&D games and he speaks about it frequently in interviews. Who would’ve thought the guy from Magic Mike was a D&D fan? Still, this was an extremely funny episode this week.

What did you think of the episode? Do you play D&D frequently at home? Tell us in the comments below!

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS.
