Strike Back will keep Section 20 fighting the good fight, as Cinemax has confirmed that they’ve renewed the series for Strike Back Season 7.

Section 20 is staying on duty. Cinemax has renewed Strike Back for a seventh season, ensuring that TV’s top action series will continue saving the world in ways no one else can.

The upcoming season will be the third for the current cast—but also, unfortunately, their last. A specific premiere date and episode count weren’t revealed on Wednesday.

Strike Back established Cinemax as a destination for adrenalized, entertaining action series nearly a decade ago,” said Cinemax president Kary Antholis. “It is with sincere gratitude for the service of all of the past and present members of Section 20 – both in front of and behind the camera – that we send the team of on one last mission to save the world from annihilation.”

The series stars Daniel MacPherson, Alin Sumarwata and Warren Brown, with Jamie Bamber and Yasemin Kay Allen joining the cast this season. This elite unit of soldiers has also developed into one of the best ensembles on the small screen, and—presuming that all five of them survive the show’s current season—it will be a pleasure to have them back for more.

Not only does the show deliver top-notch action every week, usually beyond the quality of most feature films, it’s set itself apart by also crafting excellent character development underneath all of the explosions and fisticuffs. It’s hard-hitting drama, quite literally, and TV audiences will have one more opportunity to come along for the wild ride.

“I am delighted we’re coming back for a final season,” showrunner Jack Lothian said Wednesday. “Strike Back is a show that’s always raised the bar for small-screen action, and we’re looking forward to doing that one last time. There are plenty of twists and turns ahead, but I can promise one thing — we’re going out with a bang.”
