2. Ruth lets loose on her birthday.

Finally we get to see Ruth have some genuine fun. For the first couple of episodes she’s been at home with her kids, clearly miserable at the stalemate her life has hit. This week she described her nipples as feeling like they were shoved through one of those machines that crushes pennies! Ouch. Poor girl needed a night on the town.

Perhaps she could have toned it down just the slightest bit though as she winds up getting into Eve’s cocaine stash, drinking Jaeger-bombs and tequila, in addition to inadvertently cheating on her husband by making out with a stranger on the dance floor of the club! Thankfully Robyn was there to take care of her sister, who winds up a puking mess by night’s end, but I loved watching her let loose.

1. Robyn, Caroline, and Eve put their skills to work.

Some of the most interesting parts of the show are when we get to watch the cogs in the PR machine spin, even when the results are somewhat stomach-churning (see: last week a mom filled in as a body double for her teenage daughter’s sex tape). There is still an obvious magic to the way Robyn, Caroline, and Eve perform their jobs to a scientific perfection. This week is no different.

Robyn schmoozes with acclaimed journalist (and former flame) Reese, about creating a compelling article proving Allie Greg (the trans comedienne who eviscerated Proctor) and Proctor himself, were in on the joke together as a PR stunt in the wake of their upcoming comedy tour together. Caroline actually cements the deal with Allie by buttering her up and assuring how influential a tour of this magnitude could be for her career. And Eve runs interference (with some assistance from Melody) to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Just like that, another career is saved: Hook, line, and sinker.

What did you think of “Dan”? Do you think Eve and Tom are built to last? Will Robyn ever tell Sam about the cheating or birth control? Sound off in the comments!

A new episode of Flack titled “Brooke” premieres March 14th on Pop.
