4. Leonard has a crisis

Back in Howard’s house, the gang is doing more kid-friendly experiments with the babies and while doing so, something triggers Leonard. The responses Raj makes towards the infants sparks memories from his youth and he fully remembers his mother doing the same thing to him which makes him feel sad. He then remembers being in a camp appropriately called, “Control Group” which seems to suggest he was a part of other experiments he forgot.

A little while after, he Facetimes his mother demanding an explanation on his newfound memories. He demands to know whether his life was nothing but an experiment for her and she gives a very heartfelt response.

She explains to him that she found him fascinating and that although she is not a warm mother, her studying Leonard and his progress is the best and fondest memories she has with Leonard. The answer is very touching and surprising to Leonard. She then hangs up leaving Leonard by a thread when he wants to know whether the experiments are over

5. Amy tricks Sheldon into loving babies

The most interesting part of the episode is what Raj discovers about Amy. As he walks back in something comes to his mind about Sheldon’s random baby fascination. Raj then confronts Amy about the coincidence by pointing out the convenience of Sheldon “discovering” a book on baby experiments the same day as everyone is coming over to hang out with the kids. Her response while avoiding looking at Raj, “Yeah, don’t overthink it.”

Later on, in the episode, Raj presses Amy again asking, “So you really think you can trick Sheldon into liking babies?” Her amazing response follows, “I’ve slept with him, I married him. You really want to bet against me?”

Sheldon then comes back down all excited, “You were right Amy! There were so many valuable experiments to perform on them during bath time.” Amy looking at Raj, “You don’t say?” Sheldon then gets excited at the possibility of taking them to the park and getting a bigger sample size of babies. Again, she looks at Raj.

Final thoughts

While not the strongest episode of the season, it was very enjoyable to see Amy and Sheldon ponder the idea of kids. Even funnier was watching Amy plant the idea in Sheldon’s head that babies can be fun.

So does this mean we’ll see a pregnancy before the show concludes? That would be fun to see a baby Cooper before the show ends but it seems like they are running out of time. Here is hoping we see some kids before the show wraps.
