4. What’s the deal with Max and Isobel’s mother?

We don’t get to see much of Ann Evans (guest star Claudia Black) this week. Honestly, while I appreciated getting to know more about Max and Isobel’s past, it felt a tad premature to bring her in. Maybe because she wasn’t given the focus she deserved to get but there was a lot happening this week and she had little to do.

If you were hoping to actually learn about who Ann is and her impact on her kids lives, then you’ll have to wait to find out. Mostly, she’s there as moral support for Max as he tries to deal with the tragedy of potentially losing Isobel. They have several sweet scenes this week, surprisingly so, do Max and Michael, but I’ll have to see more of her before I can form a true opinion.

3. What is Jesse Manes’s master plan?

Watching Alex confront Jesse this week was extremely cathartic, both for me and for him. I loved hearing him tell the man who traumatized and abused him that he’s going to “destroy everything he loves and make him watch.” I don’t entirely know what Jesse’s plan is though and that makes me nervous.

This week we saw Alex hack into his alien tracking mainframe, he witnessed Michael’s picture show up as a “terrorist from outer space” but Alex believes his father is just using the alien talk as a smokescreen to target gay people. He’s able to send Jesse packing but I doubt this is the last we’ll see of him, especially because he has a scene with Cam at the end where he asks her to continue her intel retrieving mission.

What does he want Cam to find? And how did Cam’s sister wind up in maximum security prison? I get the inkling there is something much greater going on here.
