Christie dated someone in Tommy’s family. Host Julie Chen then dropped a bombshell on the houseguests that they were to vote for one person to be camp director.
Alliances started to form as the girls banded together along with Tommy to elect Jessica Milagros camp director. Jack Matthews and Jackson Michie teamed up to get Jackson the votes for camp director. In the end, the boys got their way and Jackson was elected camp director. It was then revealed Jackson would have to banish four people. Those four people would go head to head in a competition and the loser would be eliminated before the first eviction.
Big Brother 21 Episode 2 begins
The episode started off with a recap of the previous episode, which lasted a few minutes. The main title sequence was not shown in this episode.
Camp director fallout
Jessica was blindsided by the decision to name Jackson camp director. She thought she had the votes with the women and Tommy to win. As a result, she was now worried that she would be on Jackson’s list of people to banish. Jackson then had one on one conversations with the conversation to see where their heads where at.
Jack suggested that Jackson target David Alexander, Cliff Hogg III, and Jessica as they openly campaigned for camp director against him. Jackson was not happy he would have to burn four people and that three of them were coming back. Jackson tried to get David on board as a pawn.
Banishment decision and competition
Jackson chose to banish Cliff, David, Jessica, and Kemi Fakunle. The Camp BB mascot then came to take away the banished houseguests away. They were dropped into “the wilderness.” To get back into the game, they had to find their way to Camp BB.
However, to make things difficult, they were in total darkness. Signs were posted throughout the woods that would lead to Camp BB. Some signs would lead to the wrong camp. The last person remaining in the dark would be eliminated.
Cliff was the first one to find his way back to Camp BB. The houseguests were happy to see Cliff back. David was having trouble as he kept finding the wrong camps. Kemi was the second person to find his way back to Camp BB. The houseguests were happy for her as well.
Jackson was hoping David would be the one who lost the competition. He feared the repercussions if David re-entered. Eventually, Jessica was the third one to make her way to Camp BB. Everyone celebrated and Jackson apologized for banishing her. David lost the competition and was out of the Big Brother house…. for now. David was upset at the thought he had failed to represent.
Post banishment competition Camp BB
After the competition, Tommy and Christie talked one on one for the first time since entering the house. They wanted to make sure they were on the same page. Christie hoped that no baggage from the past was going to affect their game moving forward. Christie revealed she once dated someone from Tommy’s family and things didn’t end great between them. Tommy and Christie then formed an alliance.
Jack, Jackson, and Nick Maccarone were looking for people to add to their alliance. They eyed Christie, Isabella “Bella” Wang, and Holly Allen. The girls agreed and a new alliance of six was born.
First Head of Household competition
The first Head of Household competition was a battle of endurance. Since he was camp director, Jackson didn’t compete as he was already immune. In the first Head of Household competition, players had to get on to a log and hold on for as long as they could.
Two people would be on each log. As camp director, Jackson was responsible for picking the two who would be paired together on each log. The teams were Jack and Kathryn “Kat” Dunn, Sam Smith and Nicole Anthony, Holly and Ovi Kabir, Bella and Nick, Analyse Talavera and Cliff, Tommy and Nick, and Christie and Kemi.
Jessica was the first person eliminated from the Head of Household competition. During the competition, houseguests were blasted with paint. The competition came down Tommy and Christie. In the end, Tommy fell, and Christie became the first Head of Household of Big Brother 21.
New competition unleashed
At the end of the episode, Julie revealed yet another twist. This twist is called the Whacktivity Comp. Julie teased that a game changing secret power would be awarded to the Whacktivity Comp. Julie also teased that we haven’t seen the last of David. Something never before seen on Big Brother will happen on Wednesday’s episode.
