A brand-new episode of Big Brother 21 aired last night on CBS. In this episode, we found out what the Whacktivity Comp and power are. Nominations were also revealed.

The third episode of Big Brother 21 aired last night. During the episode, we saw the first Whacktivity Comp was played and we saw who the two nominees were. We will have more on that later…. but first, lets take a look at the events of episode 2.

Season Premiere Part Two Recap

On the second part of the Big Brother 21 premiere, Jessica Milagros was blindsided by not winning the camp director vote. We also found out Jackson Michie was being referred to by his last name in order to avoid confusion with fellow contestant Jack Matthews. Meanwhile, Michie had a big decision to make. Michie had to banish four people from the house. Those four would compete head to head in a competition to return to the house.

Michie chose to banish David Alexander, Cliff Hogg III, Jessica Milagros, and Kemi Fakunle. Ultimately, it was David who couldn’t find his way back and was eliminated… for now. Following the banishment competition, Tommy Bracco and Christie Murphy formed an alliance. Meanwhile, Michie, Jack, and Nick Maccarone were adding to their alliance. They recruited Holly Allen, Isabella “Bella” Wang, and Christie, forming an alliance of six.

The first Head of Household competition was a battle of endurance. In the end, it was Christie who came out victorious. Julie also revealed a new twist. The Whacktivity Comp. The winner of the Whacktivity Comp would be awarded a secret game changing power. Julie also revealed we have not seen the last of David. She teased that something never-before seen on Big Brother will happen on Wednesday’s episode.

Big Brother 21 Episode 3 begins

The episode began with a recap of the events so far, which took several minutes. There was still no sign of the Big Brother main title sequence.

Head of Household competition fallout

Michie was very pleased with the results of the Head of Household competition, knowing the rest of his alliance was safe for the week. Ovi Kabir tried to work his way in with Head of Household Christie. Kathryn Dunn was worried about her standing in the game. Kathryn had been one of the first two people to fall during the Head of Household competition.

Kathryn and Kemi talked with some of the other girls wondered if Christie might nominate Jack. Kathryn also thought she had Michie in her back pocket. However, Bella relayed what Kathryn said about Michie to Christie. This made Kathryn are a target. Nick suggested nominating Cliff as a pawn next to Kathryn.

Nick and Jack talked about adding more members to their alliance. This time, they added Analyse Talavera and Tommy. With their alliance now at eight members, they had a majority of the house. They named their alliance Gr8ful. Right after they named their alliance, Ovi walked in but was oblivious as to what was going on.

During the night, Christie met with Cliff to inform him he was being nominated as a pawn against Kathryn. Cliff was not happy at the prospect of being a pawn. Christie then tried to convince Kathryn she was a pawn so that Kathryn didn’t freak out when she was nominated. Kathryn saw through this and felt she was being nominated because Christie didn’t like her. As a result, Kathryn wanted to backdoor Christie as soon as possible.

Ovi overheard a conversation Nick, Tommy, and Jack were having about the order in which the Gr8ful were going to evict people. Ovi went to Analyse with the information. However, unbeknownst to Ovi, Analyse was in the Gr8ful. Analyse ran the information to Christie, making Ovi a target.

Whacktivity Comp

The Whacktivity Comp was introduced to the houseguests. The houseguests went to the backyard to sign up for the Whacktivity they wanted to compete in. There would be three different Whacktivity comps over the next three weeks. Only five houseguests could compete in each Whacktivity Comp. The choices were the Nightmare Whacktivity, Panic Whacktivity, and Chaos Whacktivity.

Analyse, Nick, Christie, Kemi, and Jessica will compete in the Panic Whacktivity, taking place week three. Sam Smith, Tommy, Michie, Jack, and Holly will compete in the Chaos Whacktivity, taking place next week. Nicole Anthony, Ovi, Bella, Kathryn, and Cliff will compete in the Nightmare Whacktivity, taking place immediately.

For the Nightmare Whacktivity, was to identify the smell of what was in the trash cans in front of them. They were given a number of options. Competitors were also given time to run out to the camp site to help identify the smell in their trash cans.

Once they identified what they thought was the correct smell, they had to put the correct label on the trash can. When they believed they had all three trash cans correct, they had to hit the button to lock in their answers. The first person to correctly identify all three smells would win the Whacktivity Comp and receive a secret power.

Ovi and Nicole each got two out of three smells correct in the first round, but nobody was able to get all three. In the second round, Ovi and Cliff each had two out of three correct, but still nobody had all three correct. In the third round, Ovi got all three correct and won the Nightmare Whacktivity.

Whacktivity Comp fallout

For winning the Nightmare Whacktivity, Ovi won the Nightmare Power. The Nightmare Power allows Ovi to change the nominees. In the middle of the night after the nomination ceremony, Ovi could secretly wake everyone up, sending them to a new nomination ceremony.

The Head of Household must then immediately name two new nominees. The two original nominees would be safe for the week. The power would be good through the first six weeks of the game. Essentially, it’s a Coup d’état lite.

Ovi kept the power a secret from his fellow housemates. Then, he formed what he thought was an alliance of five with Jack, Michie, Analyse, and Christie. Unbeknownst to Ovi, the people he was talking to were in the Gr8ful alliance he was trying to protect against. Ovi was ecstatic about the alliance he thought he formed.

Meanwhile, Kemi pitched targeting Ovi to Christie. This made her a target among the Gr8ful alliance. They didn’t like how she was throwing people under the bus to people she wasn’t even working with.

Nomination Ceremony

At the nomination ceremony, Kathryn and Cliff were named this week’s nominees as originally planned. Cliff vowed to do what he needed to stay in the house. Ovi was happy he would get to save his power for another week. However, with the Power of Veto looming, things can still change.
