4. Where is Max?

Max is on the run. Nia wants him dead, and the cops aren’t happy with him due to the botched sting operation involving Darnell. He and Murphy are currently in splitsville. Even Darnell isn’t thrilled with his former buddy at the moment due to his involvement with the set-up.

All that said, there isn’t much reason for Max to come back. Weirdly, we didn’t hear anything about him in the finale. He was such a big part of Murphy’s life for the entire season. Suddenly he disappears without a trace despite the fact she was supposed to be in love with him?

I know the Dean/Murphy relationship was fostered to make the ending twist a bigger shock; it still felt rushed and strange. Even if Max doesn’t return in a regular role, I hope we can get real closure on his character arc.

3. How will Felix and Jess take the news of Nia’s offer?

Felix and Jess steal Max’s money, aka Nia’s money. She lets them take it, despite having one of her men deployed to take care of it. What initially appears like a generous act is revealed as part of a scheme at the episode’s ending.

By stealing Nia’s money, Felix and Jess indebted Murphy and Guiding Hope to Nia. Now they’re all going to be forced into a money-laundering scheme if they want to keep their lives.

How will Murphy’s pals react to this news? Is Murphy even going to tell them or will she try to handle this on her own? Now would be a good time for Darnell or Max to check back in to help Murphy out of this situation, especially as Nia’s former associates.
