The Boys arrives on Amazon Prime today, just in time for you to cancel all weekend plans and catch all 8 episodes of the new show. Fans of the superhero genre and comic books will be very pleased with the brand-new series as it introduces us to a number of new caped crusaders and villains, but with a very different twist.
This show, however, will be a little different from your run-of-the-mill good guy vs. bad guy show. The Boys will take a unique spin on the entire genre and asks the question: what happens when the all-powerful superheroes use their powers for things OTHER than saving people? In the show, a group of vigilantes entitled “the Boys” are on a mission to expose the misdeeds of the superheroes within the show.
Created by Superbad‘s Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen with Eric Kripke, The Boys will star popular actor Karl Urban, along with Chace Crawford, Dominique McElligott, Nathan Mitchell, Erin Moriarty, and even Simon Pegg.
The show is bound to find a number of new fans, as the superhero movies of 2019 have already come out and I’m sure there are plenty of major Marvel/DC fans who are itching for more content. The Boys will bring plenty of that, but with a twist, plenty of blood and gore, and lots of irreverent comedy. Has my synopsis not sold you on the premise yet?
