Watch Arctic: Now streaming on Amazon Prime
There are plenty of new shows and movies arriving across all streaming platforms, including Amazon Prime! If you’re looking for a good movie to watch, Arctic is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
Don’t confuse this film with Polar, another movie with a cold title featuring Mads Mikkelsen. That is a different movie, which premiered on Netflix at the beginning of the year. Arctic does also feature Mikkelsen, but premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and was released in theaters in February of 2019.
The film is bound to find an extensive audience on Amazon Prime, as Mikkelsen is a great reason to watch alone. If that doesn’t convince you, the synopsis tells us the film is a brutal story of one man stranded in the arctic (hence the title). Directed by Joe Penna and distributed by Bleecker Street, the film has received rave reviews across all platforms (scoring an 88% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes). You should have no reason not to give it a shot!

Though Arctic didn’t have a huge release, it’s still received relatively decent word-of-mouth, with many reviewers praising the incredible performance by Mads Mikkelsen. He’s literally the only person in the movie, so he definitely has a lot of pressure on his shoulders. Survival movies like this are definitely a dime-a-dozen and follow a similar formula, however, Mikkelsen makes this particular one worth the watch.
