3. Black Mirror

Black Mirror is a mixed bag of WTF and futuristic drama. With this anthology series you just never know what you’re going to get! Some of the cast members have returned for several episodes, but the show always changes it up, it’s a lot of fun! Don’t let that fool you, though, Black Mirror can very easily break your heart, too.

Instead of each season featuring a new plot, every episode of Black Mirror is different. This is just like Two Sentence Horror Stories from the CW, except Black Mirror‘s episodes are an hour or longer. Think of these as mini-movies.

Some episodes will shock you and haunt your dreams, others will only keep you up long after watching. There are many “happy” episodes, though, full of love and hope! One thing is for sure, all of them are thought-provoking. Some episodes I suggest you watch to get started, are:

  • “USS Callister”
  • “The Entire History of You”
  • “Nosedive”
  • “San Junipero”

You can pick up the series anywhere, order does not matter! That said, I would start from the beginning, anyway. All five seasons, and a special movie, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, are streaming on Netflix.
