Have you been eagerly anticipating the return of Niko and the Sword of Light? Well, be stoked, because the final season of the show drops on Amazon Prime today!

Though Niko and the Sword of Light doesn’t seem to be very well-known, it certainly has its fanbase. Premiering on Amazon in 2015 as merely a pilot episode, Amazon saw enough to order a full series and the show has gone on to produce two full seasons of animated fun.

Co-produced by both Amazon Studios and Titmouse (well known for various shows they developed for Disney XD, Adult Swim, and Cartoon Network), the series follows the main character Niko on his adventures to restore light to his world.

So far, there has been a full first season called Chapter One: The Curse of the Volcano. In the first run of episodes, the main character Niko must use his sword of light and the help of a Princess to ward off a darkness and restore light and goodness. The second season premiered in December 2018 with part two, known as Chapter Two: The Amulet of Power. This second season continues today with the final chapter of the animated series, titled The Amulet of Power: Part Two.

If you’re looking for fun plans for the weekend, why not catch the available episodes of Niko and the Sword of Light and then watch the new ones as well! Here’s a trailer to get you started.

The series is most definitely geared towards children, with many reviews discussing how much their children are drawn to the series. It’s aimed at presenting the Hero’s Journey trope in a kid-friendly fashion, following a 10-year-old boy as its main hero. Though there are not really any reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, the Amazon reviews and IMDB ratings all speak glowingly of the series as one worthy for their children’s time.
