There are going to be consequences to that Chicago Fire Season 7 finale cliffhanger. Who isn’t going to make it through the Chicago Fire Season 8 premiere?

Chicago Fire Season 8 premieres on Wednesday and it’s not a moment too soon. We’ll finally get some answers about that shocking Season 7 finale cliffhanger, which saw all of Firehouse 51 enter a building that was about to explode. And it turns out that not all will make it out alive, according to Us Weekly.

In a way, this is going to be refreshing. As much as I love each member of Firehouse 51, the show has lost some of its realism. Every season, Firehouse 51 is put in some sort of danger, with characters on the verge of death. And apart from the second season finale, everyone has made it out alive with no major consequences.

Now there comes the question of who will and won’t make it out of the building alive. I think the majority of our heroes are safe. The poster for Chicago Fire Season 8 sees the usual suspects, including Boden, Foster, and Brett, who all ran into the building in the closing minutes of the season.

However, there are a few characters missing. Capp and Tony are missing, which isn’t all that surprising. Sadly, they tend to be missing a lot and only pop up now and then in the show. It wouldn’t be too surprising if the two were the ones written out of the show, and they’re my first guess for the members of Firehouse 51 not making it out alive.

From the Us Weekly interview, it does sound like Severide and Kidd are safe, at least. Derek Haas mentioned that Severide wants to live up to his words of being a better man for her. Why would there be a discussion about Severide being a better man for Kidd if both weren’t going to make it through?

As well as talks of not everyone making it out alive, there is also talk of an injury that’s going to rock Firehouse 51. This could be one of our main characters, similar to the way Otis was injured in the past and it took time for him to recover and return to the team.
