Casting for Big Brother is now open. If you want to be on Big Brother 22, send in an application.
During Sunday’s recap episode, CBS aired an advertisement that casting for Big Brother 22 was now open. As everyone knows, you can’t be on Big Brother unless you send in an application. However, you don’t need to worry about getting your applications in right away as you will have until April 3, 2020 to submit your audition.
How to apply for Big Brother 22: online submission
For those of you who do not know, there are two ways to apply to be on the show. However, you only need to do one or the other, not both. The first way is submitting an application online. To do this, you need to make a 3-minute video tape letting them know who you are. Once you’ve completed your video, you submit it to the casting website and answer the questions they have listed for you on their website.
How to apply for Big Brother 22: open casting call
The second way to apply for Big Brother 22 is to go to an open casting call. Throughout the winter/spring months, open casting calls for Big Brother will held around the country. If you see one in your area and are interested in going, I would recommend from personal experience that you get there early. Lines get very long at these open calls because there are a lot of people who want to be on the show.
Open casting calls are a fun experience as you get to be around fellow Big Brother fans and maybe even meet a former houseguest or two if you are lucky. Once you get in the door for the open casting call, you will be handed an application form that you need to fill out.
Once you’ve waited your turn in line and filled out your application, there are several different ways things could go down from there. The first is that they will have you make a tape like the one you would submit online. Once you are done making your tape, it will be submitted to Big Brother’s casting team.
The second method is, there will be a member of the casting team present and you will be placed in a group and from there you will get a limited amount of time to make your pitch. You will be asked questions like “who would you target from this group” and “why would be good for Big Brother?” among other questions.
The third method is you will get in front of a casting producer on an individual basis. Once in front of the casting producer, you will have a limited amount of time to pitch your case.
All of these methods are based on personal experience with open calls or what I’ve heard from other people at open calls. If there is anything else I’m missing or get incorrect about what happens at an open call, drop me a line and let me know.
Good luck to those of you applying for Big Brother 22 and we hope that you provide us with great television next summer!
