Jesse Pinkman is on the run in the latest trailer for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie. Here are 5 characters we want to see in the film.

In the latest trailer for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, when asked if he’s ready in a standoff, Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman emphatically says, “Yeah.” That phrase perfectly describes the excitement for El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which premieres Oct. 11 on Netflix.

El Camino marks the return of the legendary Jesse Pinkman to the Breaking Bad universe. When we last saw Jesse, he escaped his captors’ thanks to Walter White and drove away in Todd’s El Camino. El Camino is set to pick up right where the Breaking Bad finale left out.

"The official synopsis states, “After escaping Jack and his gang, Jesse Pinkman goes on the run from the police and tries to escape his own inner turmoil.”"

Much about the film has been kept under wraps, but Netflix has finally released its first full-length trailer which features new scenes of Pinkman on the run and on the hunt to avenge those who wronged him. One of the biggest questions about the film involves the cast. Will any characters from Breaking Bad appear in El Camino.

With El Camino’s release a little over two weeks away, here are the five characters we want to see in the film.

Walter White

Without a doubt, the number one character fans want to see in El Camino is the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Walter White. In the final scene of Breaking Bad, Walt collapsed in the lab due to a gunshot wound and laid lifeless on the ground as police infiltrated the hideout. Is Walter White dead?

As Bryan Cranston said in an interview, “I never saw bags zip up.” This doesn’t confirm Walt is alive, but it also doesn’t confirm that he’s dead. Whether dead or alive, fans want to see Walt make an appearance in El Camino in some capacity.

Mike Ehrmantraut

One of the best “fixers” in television history was Mike Ehrmantraut, played by Jonathan Banks. In Season 5, Mike died when Walt shot him by the river. Fans of Mike were happy to see that Mr. Ehrmantraut would have a prominent role in the spinoff, Better Call Saul, with the fifth season premiering in 2020.  However, on the red carpet of the 2019 Emmys, Banks confirmed that he has a role in El Camino. Does this mean Mike is still alive or will he make an appearance via flashback?

Skyler White

Someone has to protect this family from the man who protects this family. Walt may be the most important character in Breaking Bad, but Skyler White (Anna Gunn) is the most controversial. At first, fans were empathetic and compassionate towards Skyler because she was about to lose her husband to cancer. However, as the series went on, Skyler became one of the most hated characters not only on the show but television history.

That being said, fans would love to see what Skyler is up to without Walt in the picture. Did she go into the family business and become a drug kingpin like Walt? Is she a normal single parent raising Walt Jr. and Holly? If we’re lucky, maybe Jesse checks up on Sklyer and see what’s she up to.

Saul Goodman

In order to get answers, we better call Saul! One of the standouts for supporting characters in Breaking Bad was the crooked lawyer, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). In fact, Saul was such a standout that he even got his own spinoff, Better Call Saul. Thanks to the flash-forwards in Better Call Saul, we know that Saul relocated to Omaha under the name Gene Taković, where he manages a Cinnabon. The odds of Saul making an appearance in El Camino are slim, but who wouldn’t want to see Saul aiding Jesse with advice on how to outrun the authorities?

Marie Schrader

They’re minerals, Marie! Unfortunately, Marie (Betsy Brandt) had a rough ending to her story. Not only did Marie lose her husband, Hank, but her brother-in-law was responsible for his death. Marie definitely got the short end of the stick when it came to a happy ending. In a way, Jesse led to Hank’s downfall after he agreed to confess about Walt’s crimes.

Does Jesse reach out to Marie to apologize for Hank’s death? Maybe Marie wants to avenge Hank’s death by going after Jesse. Either way, Marie needs to appear in the film.
