Temptation Island Season 2, Episode 1: Updated odds

We are back! Temptation Island is here for a second season of ruined relationships, promiscuity, infidelity, and some very thirsty singles looking to hook up.

Ashley and Casey say they love one another before separating. Esonica and Gavin are all over each other. Kate and David seem genuinely disappointed to leave one another; she cries immediately. And then there is Ashley and Rick. They are doomed. Reality has set in on the couples.

To quote Michael Buffer, “Leeeeeet’s get ready to ruuummmmbllllleee!”

Rick and Ashley G.

Original Odds: 5% chance of success.

Updated Odds: 2% chance of success.

Reason for the change: They’re both flirtatious, and even though some emotion is shown, it feels like a reason for both of them to cheat. Maybe it’s a mutual hall pass? Who knows? What is apparent, however, is both of them are on the island to play. And the preview to the next episode shows Rick with a smile bigger than any Joker in cinema history.

Casey and Ashley H.

Original Odds: 20% chance of success.

Updated Odds: 15% chance of success.

Reason for the change: Based on their reactions and her realistic ugly cry, it’s pretty clear this is a bad decision for them. It’s also apparent she isn’t acting at all; because, if she were, she’s the best actress in Hollywood.

The previews of the second episode, however, tell a completely different story. One snippet shows Casey banging on his seat like a toddler, and a few other scenes show Ashley H. in complete bliss. Like she’s base-lining soma from “Brave New World.”

Gavin and Esonica

Original Odds: 75% chance of success.

Updated Odds: 49% chance of success.

Reason for the change: The first episode itself didn’t guarantee anything. In fact, Gavin and Esonica looked genuinely heartbroken to leave one another. On the other hand, the future episode sneak peaks make it look like she finds a real connection with Kareem Thomas, who I’m calling “The Beard.” Could Esonica and Kareem be this season’s Evan and Morgan?

David and Kate

Original Odds: 80% chance of success.

Updated Odds: 90% chance of success.

Reason for the change: Kate looked ill the entire episode. Watch this and you’ll understand the cartwheels her innards were performing after being on Temptation Island became 100% reality.

There you have it. Three couples look to be in more trouble than when they started. One couple looks like they are sick to their stomachs about making this decision.
