1. Mad About You Season 3, Episode 8: “Giblets for Murray”

Even with “The Thanksgiving Show” having the holiday directly in the episode title, I’d be willing to bet that, were any Mad About You fan asked about the Thanksgiving episode, they’d start talking about “Giblets for Murray.” Much like “Outbreak,” this episode is the perfect example of everything that made the series work; but this third-season pick takes the relatable to an even higher degree of hilarious dysfunction.

The premise: It’s the first time Jamie and Paul are hosting Thanksgiving dinner in Apartment 11-D, and they want it to be perfect. So, of course, the goal to please everyone leads to one silly family complaint after another—and about a zillion trips to the market.

Highlights:

  • It’s pretty difficult to pick out individual moments in an episode that’s so good from top to bottom, but no discussion of “Giblets for Murray” could be complete without mentioning the completely bonkers attempt to sneak a new turkey past the family after Murray decided to start his Thanksgiving early.
  • Even with all the funny moments, probably the best part of the turkey saga was Sylvia’s decision to have mercy on Jamie—for once—by distracting everyone when New Turkey Attempt #4 was on its way in. Talk about a holiday miracle.

Not-so-much highlights:

  • It ended?
  • There wasn’t more of it?

The Mad About You revival comes to Spectrum Originals on Nov. 20. Until then, you can relive all your favorite moments with the Buchmans using Spectrum On Demand, via the “Watch Now” button on the Spectrum site, or using your Starz app.
