The release of Disney Plus means access to an unlimited amount of content. Here are some of the best Disney Channel films to watch that released in the 2000s.

Disney Plus is home to an unlimited amount of content spanning back many decades. The number of films available is insane, with even the most avid binge watchers needing a serious amount of time to go through the entire list of Disney Channel content and more.

When it comes to movies, the Disney Channel ones were all unique in their own way, and many of them have starred the big-name celebrities of today. Like the Disney Channel shows from the 2000s, the DC movies were equally as memorable and filled with rising stars.

However, with the surplus of Disney Channel movies from the 2000s, where do you even begin if you want to relive some nostalgia from your childhood days? Well, here’s a list of some popular films from the 2000s that might merit a walk through memory lane:

Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior (2006)

More from Disney Plus

The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’s Brenda Song stars as Wendy Wu, a well-liked, normal high-schooler with her eyes set on winning Homecoming queen. All of that is put to the test when a monk named Shen (Shin Koyamada) alerts Wendy that she must stop a malicious spirit named Yan-Lo from damaging the world. She must train to become a Yin Warrior to successfully defeat the spirit.

Ignorant of this important task, Wendy puts off training with Shen to continue living her life until she recognizes and sees the evil powers of Yan-Lo firsthand. Inevitably, the teen decides to team up with Shen and become prepared to take down the cruel spirit.

Wendy must now train hard to defeat both Yan-Lo and her opponents in the Homecoming Queen race!

High School Musical 2 (2007)

It’s time for summer at East High, which means the entire HSM gang is bracing for an action-packed few months. Troy Bolton (Zac Efron) is set on earning some extra cash with a summer gig, which also turns into an opportunity to work alongside his girlfriend Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), along with friends Chad (Corbin Bleu) and Taylor (Monique Coleman).

Nonetheless, the sinister-minded Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) is set on breaking up Troy and Gabriella’s relationship so she has a chance with him. The couple’s relationship is put to the test as Sharpay pulls out all the strings to pry them apart. Summer is about to get heated, and it won’t only be the weather!

Camp Rock (2008)

Teen Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato) just wants the opportunity to pursue her dream of singing. When she gets the chance to attend the musical Camp Rock (if she helps her mother in the Camp Rock kitchen), Mitchie accepts. Throughout the length of the camp, the teen will get the chance to build on her musical abilities.

The culmination of the camp is Final Jam, a singing contest in which the winner will get the chance to compose a song with boy-band singer Shane Gray (Joe Jonas). However, Shane instantly becomes drawn to Mitchie’s voice without knowing it’s her, propelling him to search for the owner of such a beautiful voice.

On the quest to win Final Jam, Mitchie meets delightful Caitlyn (Alyson Stoner), snobby Tess (Meaghan Martin), and other talented members of the camp. Disney Channel’s Camp Rock also features Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas, Roshon Fegan, Jasmine Richards, and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.

The Cheetah Girls: One World (2008)

In the third installment of the Cheetah Girls series, Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan), and Aqua (Kiely Williams) are presented with the opportunity of a lifetime when they are chosen to star in a Bollywood production.

The only thing is they must travel to India to participate in the filming. Immersed in a new country and culture, the trio is introduced to Indian lifestyle, their co-stars, and the set in which the movie will be filmed. However, a major decision looms for the film’s director Vik (Michael Steger), as he must choose the single best Cheetah Girl for the movie- something the girls were unaware of until they arrived in India. Who will get the part? Will it damage friendships? Watch as the Cheetah Girls test friendship and loyalty for a once-in-a-lifetime part!

Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009)

The Russo family, Jerry (David DeLuise), Theresa (Maria Canal Barrera), and their kids Alex (Selena Gomez), Justin (David Henrie), and Max (Jake T. Austin) are a family of wizards possessing some of the rarest powers possible. They live an “average” life in NYC by running a sandwich restaurant.

However, this family needs a casual vacation, as wizards need a break from casting spells too. Nevertheless, the Russos head to a tropical destination, hopefully resulting in a getaway without the magic. After Alex is discovered trying to use magical powers, she gets into a heated confrontation with her mother, which leads to the teen accidentally wishing for her parents to never meet. Oops. It just so happens that the desire becomes true, and now Jerry and Theresa are completely clueless as to who these kids are. They are also unaware of their marriage, viewing the other as a stranger.

Stuck in a disaster, Alex and Justin head to find the majestic Stone of Dreams, something that can help fix the mess by overturning Alex’s wish. Nevertheless, it will be a treacherous journey, and time will certainly be running out if the teens don’t find it fast.

This movie is based on the Disney Channel sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place.
