1. Adventure Time (2010-2018)

Released in 2010, Adventure Time is easily one of the most recognizable TV shows on this list. The show became a phenomenon and even after the show wrapped, fans are still talking about. Created by Pendleton Ward, Adventure Time was unlike anything that came before and anything since. There is a uniqueness to the series that made it such a hit for fans of all different interests.

Originally a story about a boy and his dog going on adventures, Adventure Time grew into so much more in its ten seasons. Finn and Jake are joined by a plethora of other characters including Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, the Ice King, Lumpy Space Princess and much more. Unlike some shows, all of the characters were well-developed and given a bit of backstory as to why they are who they are.

Additionally, Adventure Time wasn’t afraid to touch on some larger topics. The show dealt with things like rejection, falling in love, abandonment and mental illness. While the show might have seemed like silly fun at one point, it became much more than that. The show has amazing writing, humor and was rarely seen in a negative light which was incredibly impressive.

Adventure Time wasn’t just a show as it became a huge fandom. Whether it be merchandise, cosplays or fan art, there was no shortage of when it came to fans. The overwhelming love for Adventure Time is no doubt the reason why the show is getting four new specials. While we don’t know an exact date, it’s something for fans to look forward to.

What really makes Adventure Time special is how much it changed the landscape of cartoons. As great as the show was, it helped give life to other TV shows. There would be no Steven Universe, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes or Over the Garden Wall. In essence, a lot of shows from the 2010s wouldn’t have been possible without Adventure Time. If that doesn’t make it one of the best, if not the best-animated show from the 2010s, then I don’t know what else will.

With the list now complete, here are a handful of honorable mentions: Young Justice, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Bubble Guppies, The Amazing World of Gumball, Sofia the First, Teen Titans Go!, Star vs the Forces of Evil, We Bare Bears and Voltron: Legendary Defender. As you can see, the 2010s were filled with quality animated TV shows. Of course, not all the TV shows could be mentioned but these were some that came to mind.
